The Overuse of Smartphones Among Teenagers
By Davin Alfaridzy (1209624160)
The overuse of smartphones among teenagers is becoming a serious issue that affects both
their mental health and academic performance. Many teens spend hours scrolling through
social media, playing games, or watching videos, leading to poor sleep, lack of focus, and
even anxiety or depression. This addiction not only affects their studies but also weakens
real-life social interactions. One solution to this growing problem is encouraging digital
balance through education and parental involvement. Schools can hold workshops to raise
awareness about screen time limits and the dangers of overuse. Parents can also play a role by
setting screen time restrictions and promoting phone-free activities like sports, reading, or
family time. Another effective approach is using apps that track screen time and alert users
when they exceed healthy limits. By creating a healthy relationship with technology,
teenagers can enjoy the benefits of smartphones without letting them control their lives.
